I finally got Zoey trained after 4 months of trying bajillions of methods!

After trying everything imaginable, mind you. I tried the Petsmart obedience classes and going to a private trainer as well, but I could NOT get Zoey to stop peeing in the house – plus – she wasn’t so obedient to begin with. She didn’t follow the general commands like sit, lay down, or anything. She was very energetic a lot of the times, especially when people came over, so I thought maybe that was the issue…but she was very smart.

Most Yorkshire Terriers I’ve met have not been trained particularly well….I just figured that most of the owners had not taken the time and patience to go through the steps that I went through to get their dog trained. After going through the experienced I went through I realized that it is HARD – that is why!

I was starting to get worried – they say start early with the yorkies, and Zoey was already almost a year old at that point. Finally I decided to look at some forums online and I eventually found a lot of good feedback from a couple of fellow yorkie owners on a book, “Secrets to Dog Training – Stop Dog Behavior Problems” which comes with a free audio book, and some additional bonus books on training. I decided it was worth the money after hearing some feedback on it so I went and got it from the sitehttp://www.kingdomofpets.com/dogobediencetraining/. The Fast Track System book is short and really simple to follow. After a couple of weeks of following the book, I started seeing some really major improvements with Zoey. She actually started letting me know when she needed to go out, and was learning to sit/lay down on command. I practically NEVER EVER got her to do any of these things before, so I was really relieved to finally see the light!!!! Hahaa
After several months of doing the system, she is the best trained yorkie around. People love to see her sit and stay…plus she has stopped nawing on stuff around the house, and on feet : ) !!
Unbelievable.

If you guys have a dog – even one that is a bit older like mine – I highly recommend this system. It will help you better understand the psychology of dog training and do things the right way. Good luck all of you guys, yorkie owners or other breeds : )

The amazing system: http://www.kingdomofpets.com/dogobediencetraining/.

  2. My yorkie Ginger would NOT stop peeing on the carpet/hard wood and jumping ALL over house guests - I told myself it was just a phase but as she started getting older and i started training her these vices weren't getting better!!!! i finally found your blog a couple of weeks ago, and now I actually understand what I needed to improve on in training her. She has only peed inside once this week...a DRASTIC improvement from atleast several times a day! Yay for the carpets!
